Regardless of the size of the farm, cow welfare is of paramount importance to British dairy farmers. It is in their interest to have healthy animals and they have a legal and moral responsibility to maintain high welfare standards.
While very large dairies are rare in Europe, they are more common in other parts of the world and no negative effect on cows' health has been found.
