Did you know that there are more cows in Britain than there are people in Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester put together?
What are British dairy farmers doing to prevent Johne’s disease?
All dairy farmers want to avoid their cows getting Johne's disease and work hard to prevent it. A screening programme has recently been developed for British dairy farmers to help them and vets manage the control and prevention of Johne's disease. The programme is expected to lead to a reduction in the disease in UK dairy cows.
Dairy industry initiatives are underway to help farmers and experts work more closely to share current knowledge and expertise, as well as ideas and visions for best practice.
Caring for cows
Keeping cows healthy and happy are the top priorities for every
dairy farmer, and farmers take great pride in caring for their
cows.
