Cows are creatures of habit and will know when milking time comes around. In the summer, grazing cows will often wait by the gate for the farmer to collect them.
This is when a collecting yard comes in handy. Many dairy farmers use this dedicated area to gather the cows before they are milked, and cows wait here for their turn to be milked.
