The cow whisperer
Karen Lancaster is the 'cow whisperer' who helps dairy farmers understand their cows by reading 'cow signals'.
A qualified vet, Karen first encountered the cow signals concept at a conference three years ago. Today she spends most of her time travelling up and down the country, sharing her expertise with dairy farmers.
Karen's secret is she makes farmers see the world through their cows' eyes. When she goes to see her 'patients' you might find her crawling on all fours in a barn, sitting in the field with the cows or walking in their tracks, all the time reading signals that include the sounds and movements they make.
