Is milk from the progeny of cloned cows safe to drink?
With regard to food safety, the scientific evidence is conclusive: The FSA said in November 2010 that "the Advisory Committee on Novel Foods and Processes has confirmed that meat and milk from cloned cattle and their offspring shows no substantial difference to conventionally produced meat and milk, and therefore is unlikely to present a food safety risk."
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) concludes that "there is no indication that differences exist in terms of food safety for meat and milk of clones or their progeny compared with those from conventionally bred animals". In addition, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), there is no risk to public health from the dairy foods made with the milk of cloned animals and their progeny.
